Difference between Among and Between

Among is used for relationships involving more than two.

Between is usually used for relationships involving only two, but may be used for more when the items are distinctly separate.

  • Best golfer of the 1960s is between Arnold, Gary, and Jack.
  • The plane crash-landed in the field between the four houses.
